Pembroke Pines and surrounding cities residents have been
patiently waiting for the opening of Whole Foods Market for a very long time.
I would constantly drive by the Cobblestone Plaza and see the building with
the sign “Coming Soon” and wonder, WHEN!?!?!?!
Well on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, the city of Pembroke Pines,FL welcomed
their new addition, Whole Foods Market.
For years people living in either Pembroke Pines, Miramar, Cooper City,
Hollywood, Davie, Southwest Ranches and even residents living close to the
Dade/Broward countyline, would have to travel to the Whole Foods locations in
Plantation, Ft.Lauderdale or Aventura to shop.
Opening a location in Pembroke Pines was a great idea, especially because its
located right off the exit of Interstate 75.
Before the grand opening, I’ve NEVER shopped at Whole Foods Market so I was
very curious to see why this grocery store is always busy.
When I arrived around noon time, the line outside was long.
Yes there was a line outside, but it was less than a ten minute wait.
As I entered through the doors I was prepared for the madness.
I started in the produce department and worked my way, carefully, around
each department. I had to maneuver my shopping cart extremely slow because
it was crowded. Everyone wanted to stop at the display tables and try out
what Whole Foods Market had to offer. From meatballs to Voss water,
shoppers were in line to sample….everything.
I FINALLY made my way to the other side of the store and noticed Whole Foods
offers a salad bar and hot foods in the deli dept.
I’ve experienced other grocery store’s deli dept’s and in my opinion, they don’t
compare to Whole Foods.
They have a huge selection of food and their salad bar is even better.
I didn’t get to try it out because it was a little busy, but I will go back
in the near future.
The checkout lines were very long but all lanes were opened, which is good.
I must say, from the upper management to the stock clerks, everyone was
super friendly and helpful.
That’s to be expected during the grand opening but I
did visit Whole Foods again and they greeted me the same way.
If you have a chance, stop by and check them out. You won’t be disappointed!
